Hipe 3.1 beta (current)

The current version is developed in a single repository holding the display server, the client API, sample applications and hipecore, the display engine. If you have git installed, run the following command and a directory named hipe containing the Hipe distribution will be created in your present working directory:

$ git clone https://github.com/dwkos/hipe.git

Hipe 3 requires hipecore, which is included.

Classic Hipe

The final releases of classic Hipe, in which the display server and the engine were separate projects. Classic Hipe can be built against either stock Qt5WebKit or classic hipecore, which installs under Qt5WebKit's library names.

• Hipe 2.12 (October 2026). The display server, the client API, sample applications and the manual. This is the final version that supports stock Qt5WebKit as its display engine.
• hipecore 0.6 beta (October 2026). The display engine recommended for Hipe 2.12, distributed separately.
• v2.02 beta. Older release, not recommended for new installations.

The git repositories of classic Hipe and classic hipecore remain available:

$ git clone https://gitlab.com/danielkos/hipe.git
$ git clone https://gitlab.com/danielkos/hipecore.git
