Contributors
Hipe
- Daniel Kos, General Development Systems: creator and lead developer of Hipe, including the client library, the display server and the hipecore display engine.
- Harrison Schaefer, Thomas Templeton, Amesh Fernando and Scott Guiney, in a 2021 student industry project: the element interface (QWebElement) that the display server builds its instructions on, now part of hipecore, and the display server's instruction handling.
Standing on the shoulders of WebKit
hipecore is built from WebKit, by way of the community QtWebKit project's 5.212 release, and most of its code comes from the companies, organisations and people who built WebKit and its ancestor, KDE's KHTML. The contributors named most often in hipecore's copyright notices are:
- Apple
- The KDE project's KHTML and KSVG developers, among them Lars Knoll, Dirk Mueller, Antti Koivisto, Nikolas Zimmermann and Rob Buis
- Nokia, Digia and The Qt Company, for the Qt port
- Research In Motion (BlackBerry)
- Igalia
- Torch Mobile
- Adobe
- Samsung
- Intel
- The University of Szeged
- Motorola Mobility
- Collabora
Many more individuals contributed. Each source file's header names its copyright holders, and the Licenses page gives the licences their code is under.
