Instruction set reference
HIPE_OP_SERVER_DENIED
Sent by the server when a request is received but cannot be acted on due to some critical violation. Usually this means that the client has not followed protocol, e.g. is trying to send instructions even though a container request was previously denied. Or, the session has been terminated at the server end.
This is also the opcode reported (via instruction_ret->opcode) when hipe_next_instruction() returns -1 because the connection to the display server has been lost. Client applications must check for it and stop calling hipe_next_instruction() when it occurs – see the warning under hipe_next_instruction().
- location: not used.
- arg[0]: the reason, if any, e.g. "location 57 already in use".
Notes
The server sends this, with a reason, just before disconnecting an application that broke the protocol (see "Locations"), and when it refuses a client built against an older libhipe. libhipe prints the reason to stderr and hipe_last_error() returns it.
